Dr Priya Hook
Dr Priya Hook (nee Balnaves) graduated with distinction from James Cook University’s Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Having grown up in Townsville, Dr Priya completed her studies in Cairns and has worked in Innisfail, Mackay and Sarina. Dr Priya is very excited to return to Cooktown where she first met her husband Daniel in 2018.
While Dr Priya enjoys all aspects of dentistry, she is particularly interested and skilled in oral surgery. She is well known for her ability to clearly explain treatment options and diagnoses to patients and for spending time educating patients on how to achieve excellent oral health. In her spare time, Dr Priya enjoys exploring all Queensland has to offer, scuba diving, playing piano and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Daniel Hook
Dr Daniel Hook, has graduated with distinction from James Cook University’s Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Biomedical Science (Honours) and Diploma of Health Science. Dr Daniel and his family have lived in and around the Cooktown region since 2003. He is very excited to be returning home.
While Dr Daniel will be working primarily as a PHO at Cooktown’s Multipurpose Health Centre, he will also be filling the roles of practice manager and principal dental assistant for this family dental practice.
In his spare time Dr Daniel enjoys flying light aircraft, fishing, playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends.

Rapha Hook
Rapha is a 1-year-old Border Collie who (pending approval) will be enrolling to become a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs Australia. While she is often anxious when first meeting new people she quickly warms up to them. We are hoping that come 2024, she will be able to help our more anxious patients through their dental visits by either sitting on their lap or by just being by their side.
Outside of work hours Rapha enjoys long walks on the beach, frisbee, swimming and walks up Grassy Hill.
